17.8. Pejantaita odotellessa

Höpenissä tapahtuu paljon. Tällä viikolla on kylpyhuoneiden ja vessojen kalusteita asennettu vihdoin paikoilleen. Gustavsbergin kalusteet ja Oraksen Cubista hanat ovat olleet erinomainen valinta. Putkimiehet ja puuseppämme on kilvan kehuneet miten hyvin moderi kohtaa vanhan. Itse pääsen katsomaan paikkoja vasta perjantaina. Kaikki mitä olen kuullut meidän värivalinnoista ja miltä paikat alkavat näyttämää, luo ison odotusarvon. Olo on vähän kuin pikkupojalla ennen joulua. Tosin tämä pikkupoika kuulemma saa jo lauantaina harjan & rätin käteen ja alkaa siivousurakka. Ohjelmassa ikkunoiden pesua, pölyjen pyyhkimistä, lattioiden puunausta ja kaikkea muuta siivouskivaa. Another week has passed by and only week to go! What do I do in the house when all the workers are gone? Will I be lonely? It is really strange, after you have been in this project for so long. Although it isn't long, it has been intensive. All we did is house, house, house. On April 8th I have send the architect Chrsitian Naber pictures of the house and we were talking about the offer. And now we are ready to move in! The solar pipes are now in the heating-room. All the devices will be fixed in the bathrooms. All radiators and on Tuesday will come the new water tank. They need couple of men to carry it. We will see how it goes.

Painting comes to the end finish in the upper floors. They started also with the renovation of the cellar. We decided to keep the old window in, which is facing the garden. So we had to totally renovate it, the wood cracked and all the painting was gone. Problem was, the window is behind the old wine tree and so we had to crawl behind and do the work. But now it really looks good. If we would have replaced the window it would have not been with all the small wooden parts in-between. We will put a second window inside for the isolation. It isn't done as much in Germany as in Finland, so the people were a bit surprised about our solution.

Burn Burn Burn - renovation on fire. All though we have been quick and tried to push – Emma's room still looks the same. Now finally another insurance came and we are able to order now and get the things rolling. So Monday are coming the people who are specialised on the burn damages. They will take away complete floor. Another messy job. With all the dirt, wholes and cracks and trash we carried out of the house I am starting to be a bit allergic. I hope the floor guy will come this week as well and then we can at least move in the room. Extra work which we really didn't need. But good for the room that it will be completely fixed.

Still in planning:

The NunnaUuni oven shall be installed 29th of September. Only I need a person to do the preparation and fix the chimney. Again you can do as much planning and briefing – what for, if the offer doesn't come! It took so long for the one, that now I decided to get a second one which I wait for now….

Only 8 days…countdown is starting. And in the end there will be some chaos, where I thought we could slowly already ship things in…
