8.8. Life is a building sight (by Nadja)

Living between to cultures let you see always both sides of a coin. Building and housing in Finland is different than in Germany. Yet everyone is living with a roof over his head, right? There are surely many ways how to build a house. As there are many ways to make a child growing - as another proof. In Finland I learned if children are not drinking 10 litres of milk per day and eating at least the size of a 10 acre grain field, you shouldn’t expect much from your child (and there is no one else to blame than yourself). Well, I hated and still hate to drink pure milk and I have been healthy as a little fish in the pond all my life…

It is also about trust. When my baby was small, I imported German puuro, the one brand me new and grew up with (although I never finished 10 acre…) Couple month later, after I had carried all the kaura to Finland - I heard the German company is importing kaura grain from Finland!

If we would take live more easily and trust when we live in another country, that people there also know what they do… and how to build a house. And it goes both ways, since I have no clue of building: water comes out of tubs and heat from a radiator and only in Mökki I learned how to operate with open fire. I had to enter a complete new land: the land of handcraft, technique, strange devices and a complete new language.

After couple of month I think I have established myself in this society and speak a bit like they do – I wish, I hope…
